An earthquake struck Egypt on Saturday evening and was felt across the country, as well as in Jordan, Saudi Arabia and Israel and the Occupied Palestinian Territories.
It was a 5.2 magnitude earthquake, according to a monitoring service, and the epicentre was some 332km east of Cairo in Taba.
Twitter users were quick to post news of the quake, reporting that it felt “strong” in Cairo and shook hotels in the south Jordanian city of Aqaba, but there were no reports of any damage, injuries, or casualties.
