The UN agency, Ocha, said 176 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli forces and settlers since 7 October in the occupied West Bank and in occupied east Jerusalem.

The figure includes at least 46 children. The organisation also documented at least 233 settler attacks against Palestinians resulting in casualties, damage to Palestinian-owned property, or both, in the same time period.

The Israeli NGO Physician for Human Rights-Israel reported on Saturday that "two premature babies died” due to Israel cutting off all electricity for Gaza since 9 October.

The NGO warned there is a “real risk for the lives of the 37 other premature babies" in the neonatal intensive care ward.
Israeli forces have been bombing the vicinity and departments of the al-Shifa hospital since 9 November. Connections have largely been cut off in the area.

Doctors Without Borders (MSF), whose staff still operate in the hospital, reports that "during the last 24 hours the al-Shifa hospital has been hit several times, particularly the maternity ward."

Doctor Marwa Abou Saada, head of the al-Shifa surgery department, quoted by the NGO Medical aid for Palestinians (MAP), added that "no one can leave al-Shifa hospital".

“People who tried to get out were shot at. Some were killed, others injured,” he continues.

The Israeli military has said that they are not firing on Al Shifa Hospital in Gaza on Saturday, but that there are clashes around the hospital, an official said.

The Israeli army official said that people can still leave the hospital safely.

However, doctors in the hospital told Middle East Eye that bombing has been ongoing since 9 November, and ceilings in the hospital have collapsed as a result. Eyewitnesses also said that the women’s and maternity ward were bombed.

Doctors Without Borders (MSF)have repeatedly called for Israeli attacks on Al Shifa Hospital to stop.

Earlier today, they issued a statement saying: “MSF teams and hundreds of patients are still inside Al-Shifa hospital. MSF urgently reiterates its calls to stop the attacks against hospitals, for an immediate ceasefire and for the protection of medical facilities, medical staff and patients.”

World leaders attending the Arab-Islamic emergency summit in Riyadh have said that Israeli aggression in Gaza amounts to “war crimes, barbaric and inhumane massacres by the occupation government.”

The leaders also rejected calling the aggressions a “war” or “self defence.”

Doctor Bader, who works at al-Shifa hospital, said that direct attacks on al-Shifa have been “ongoing for 24 hours” since 9 November.

“There was direct bombing on the hospital, cars parked outside were set alight, it was a very violent night on 9 November. When the sun rose, the bombing continued on the hospital’s maternity and women’s ward. The Israeli army called us doctors,  mentioning us by name, and told us to move to the south, they said we have from 9 until four,” he told Middle East Eye.

“People got scared and they started to leave the hospital, but the bombing continued, and it started to worsen. Us doctors decided to leave with people, there’s no transport so we had to walk in the thousands until we got to a certain point to find a car before walking for miles again. After that, armed Israeli police, around 20 of them, searched us.”

“On our way to the south there were dead bodies, limbs, of humans and animals along the way, we saw buildings destroyed. We had to walk with our ID held up in the air so the Israeli army could see it, we weren't allowed to make eye contact with the police or tanks. One man didn’t have his ID up in the air, and him and all those around him were stopped and searched. Until now we don’t know if he was killed or what,” he added.

Lebanon’s Hezbollah leader Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah made his second speech since the start of the war on Saturday, where he called for increased pressure on the US “because it is the one holding the decision in the first place".

“To the Americans, I say: If you want the secondary fronts to stop, you must cease the aggression on Gaza,” he said.

“The most important thing at the moment is the change in world opinion regarding Israel, which is killing thousands of children and women,” he added.

He also said that Israel “seeks revenge without moral, legal or humanitarian limits. This demonstrates the nature of this entity".

Israeli forces have placed Gaza's biggest hospital, Al-Shifa, under siege for more than 17 hours and counting.

No one is allowed in or out, and there's no electricity, internet, or water. The siege is enforced as Israeli fighter jets and tanks shell areas near the hospital, while armed drones target anyone who attempts to move around in its vicinity.

Israeli ground forces have not reached the hospitals yet, as fierce street battles between troops and Palestinian fighters unfold some hundreds of meters away.

Under these conditions, the hospital has collapsed, leaving 15,000 people inside at risk of death, doctors warn.

Here's some of the latest updates from Al-Shifa:

  • Palestinian health officials say at least six patients on life support have died since the siege started, including one baby. Their deaths were the result of ventilators and infant incubators failing to work due to lack of electricity

  • Dozens of dead bodies, including those killed on Friday, lie in the hospital's yard with no means of burying them. Palestinian health officials say armed Israeli drones targeted them when they attempted to dig graves for the dead

  • Doctors say they have no idea what is going on outside the hospital but continue to hear heavy bombing and shelling nearby

  • Many journalists left Al-Shifa on Friday after it was bombed, making it difficult to obtain news from within the hospital

  • Ambulances have not been allowed to leave the hospital. Health officials say they contacted the International Red Cross to provide them safe passage, who in turn informed the hospital directors that the Israeli military is refusing to cooperate. Middle East Eye could not independently verify the claim

  • Al-Shifa Hospital is where the health ministry officials coordinate their work, assign operations across Gaza's hospitals, and provide daily briefs to the media. Health officials say they can no longer provide any of these services due to electricity and internet outages, which could mean the collapse of the health system in the Gaza Strip

  •  The health ministry is also unable to provide updates on the Palestinian death toll from Israeli air strikes.

Tens of thousands have descended on the streets of Central London to protest for Palestine and demand a ceasefire.

London's protest comes after British government officials tried to ban the pro-Palestine demonstration as it coincided with Remembrance Day commemorations.

Earlier, local news reports said far-right activists had clashed with police in Central London.

MEE's Aina Khan is on the ground in London and said protestors are streaming through the streets of London despite official calls to ban the protest.

Here is her report:

Protestors are slowly making their way past Marble Arch near the end of Edgeware Road.

Chants of "Israel is a terrorist state, free, free Palestine" reverberate across the roads of Central London.

Zoe Whittington, travelled from South London with her partner and 17-month-old son.

"I can't stand by and be complicit in what is going on. I believe in peace and I believe in humanity," said Whittington.

"I can't stop by watching children and civilians being persecuted and killed in the way that they are.

"I want my son to live in a world that is free of this kind of thing and I think it's really important he is here with me today."

Good afternoon, MEE readers,

Here is a round-up on the situation in Gaza as Israel continues its bombardment and ramps up its ground invasion of the besieged enclave.

Health officials from Al-Shifah Hospital, Gaza’s largest medical facility, said it has run out of fuel and suspended all operations as it cannot power its equipment.

The Palestinian Health Ministry has said one baby has already died in the Al Shifah hospital, and dozens are at risk of dying as they have run out of electricity to power incubators that were keeping them alive.

Medical staff, patients and displaced Palestinians are also unable to leave the Al Shifah hospital as Israeli forces have besieged the medical facility.

MEE’s Maha Hussein, who is in Gaza, has spoken to medical officials and journalists trapped in the Al Shifah hospital. They have told Middle East Eye that Israeli snipers are stationed outside the Al Shifah hospital and shooting anyone attempting to leave the hospital.

Elsewhere, Saudi Arabia is holding an extraordinary summit that is hosting Muslim and Arab leaders from across the world.

Combining summits planned for the Arab League and the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation, leaders have come to Riyadh to discuss the situation in Gaza. Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman opened the summit by condemning Israel and called on Israel to stop its aggression in Gaza. Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas also addressed the summit in Riyadh and urged the US to intervene and stop Israel.

The head of surgery at the Al Shifa hospital, Dr Marwan Abu Sada, paints a dark picture on the situation they are facing in Gaza.

Speaking to Medical Aid for Palestine, Sada describes how no one is able to get out of the Shifa hospital as people are being shot in the streets.

"No one can get out of the Shifa hospital. No one can come into the Shifa hospital. The situation is very dangerous," Sada told Medical Aid for Palestine.

""And the people who tried this morning who tried to evacuate from the hospital, they were being shot in the streets. Some of them got killed, some of them have been injured."
