Israeli forces executed handcuffed Palestinian medics before burying them in a mass grave underneath their crushed ambulances in southern Gaza's Rafah.
The fifteen humanitarian workers went missing last week after responding to a distress call from civilians being attacked by Israeli forces.
We spoke to Olga Cherevko in Gaza, a Staff member of the UN’s Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs.
She told us that the UN’s Ocha are horrified by the these abhorrent attacks committed by Israeli forces on Palestinian rescue workers and UN staff.
The workers include eight paramedics from the Palestine Red Crescent Society (PRCS), six members of the Palestinian Civil Defence search-and-rescue teams, and one UN staff member.
Philippe Lazzarini, the head of the UN relief agency for Palestinian refugees, Unrwa, called it “a profound violation of human dignity,”
The Palestinian health ministry said some of the bodies were found with their hands tied and with wounds in their heads and chests.
The health ministry condemned Israeli forces for the “heinous crime” and called for an international investigation.
