Arab states reject Trump’s Gaza takeover plan, call for ‘Palestinian Riviera’
Arab states at the UN have dismissed Trump’s call for a US-led takeover of Gaza, which includes forcibly removing its Palestinian population and transforming the territory into a luxury development project dubbed the “Riviera of the Middle East.”
In a clear rebuke, a representative speaking on behalf of Arab nations stated, “We, the Arab countries, want to see a Riviera, a Palestinian Gazan Riviera, in the independent and internationally recognised State of Palestine.”
The statement was shared in a video posted by the State of Palestine on social media.
Trump’s proposal, widely condemned as an attempt at ethnic cleansing, has been met with firm opposition from Palestinian leaders and Arab governments, who say Gaza must remain part of a sovereign Palestinian state.
