Belize intervenes in support of South Africa's genocide case against Israel

Belize has submitted an application to join South Africa’s genocide case against Israel, underscoring how countries are still looking to hold Israel to account for what they allege is its genocide of Palestinians in Gaza, despite a ceasefire. 

Belize, a Central American country, joins a growing list of states accusing Israel of committing genocide in the Gaza Strip, including Nicaragua, Colombia, Cuba, Libya, Mexico, Spain, Turkey and the Palestinian Authority.

Israel denies the charge.
