British warship repels Houthi attack in Red Sea

The HMS Diamond, a British warship, has repelled a drone attack from Yemen's Houthis in the Red Sea, according to British officials.

"Deploying her Sea Viper missile system, Diamond destroyed a drone targeting her with no injuries or damage sustained to Diamond or her crew," the Ministry of Defence said in a statement on Sunday.

"These intolerable and illegal attacks are completely unacceptable and it is our duty to protect the freedom of navigation in the Red Sea."

The Houthis have launched several drone and missile attacks at vessels in the Red Sea, in what it has described as an act of solidarity with Palestinians under Israeli bombardment in Gaza.
