China wants to see 'real ceasefire' between Iran and Israel

Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi told his Turkish counterpart Hakan Fidan on Tuesday that China had been in contact with Iran, Israel and other relevant parties and was looking forward to the realisation of a "real ceasefire".

All parties should resume dialogue on an equal basis and return to the path of a political settlement of the Iranian nuclear issue, Wang said, according to a statement from his ministry.

China's foreign minister said that Palestine was still at the heart of issues in the Middle East.
