Egypt, Qatar and US negotiating truce extension

Egyptian, Qatari and US negotiators are close to agreeing an extension to the truce in Gaza, which is in its fourth and final day, according to Egyptian security sources who spoke to Reuters.

The negotiators are still discussing the length of the extension and which Palestinian prisoners would be freed under it.

The sources said that Hamas was seeking a four-day extension while Israel wanted day-by-day extensions, with negotiations to continue over which Palestinian detainees would be released.
