France urges Israel and Hezbollah to 'seize opportunity' for ceasefire

France's President Emmanuel Macron's office said on Monday that ceasefire talks in Lebanon have "advanced significantly", calling on Israel and Hezbollah to seize "this opportunity as soon as possible".

"Discussions on a ceasefire on the blue line (in southern Lebanon, editor's note) have advanced significantly", the French presidency said. "We hope that the stakeholders will seize this opportunity as soon as possible".
