Gaza health ministry reports severe shortages of medical supplies

Gaza's health ministry has warned of an "unprecedented crisis in medicine and medical supplies", reporting on Telegram that 60 percent of essential medicines and 83 percent of medical consumables have run out in the ministry's warehouses.

It warned that the shortages would bring medical services, most notably emergency services, operations, intensive care, kidney dialysis services, primary health care and mental health services, to a halt.

The ministry further called on the international community "to intervene swiftly and provide the necessary medicines and medical supplies" to Gaza.
