Hamas official: Ceasefire talks depend on Israel releasing all agreed prisoners

Dr Basem Naim, a member of Hamas’ political bureau, stated that any negotiations with Israel via mediators would only proceed once all 620 Palestinian prisoners, agreed upon in the deal, are released.

This was in exchange for four corpses and six Israeli prisoners freed on Saturday.

"The mediators must ensure that the enemy adheres to the terms of the agreement as outlined in the agreed-upon text," he said.

The Israeli prime minister’s office announced at the weekend that it would postpone the release of Palestinian captives, using unsubstantiated claims of Hamas violating the ceasefire agreement as justification.
