Hamas says it is 'eager to implement' ceasefire deal

Hamas has said it is committed to the Gaza ceasefire agreement and does not want to see it collapse.

"We are eager to implement it and oblige the occupation to fully implement it," spokesperson Abdul Latif al-Qanou said.

Mediators are seeking to ensure that Israel abides by a humanitarian protocol and resumes exchanges of Israeli captives held in Gaza for Palestinian prisoners and detainees held by Israel on Saturday, Qanou said in a statement.

Israel has called up reservists to brace for the war in Gaza re-commencing, which Israeli leaders have said would restart if Hamas fails to meet a Saturday deadline to free further Israeli captives.
