ICJP calls for further charges against Israeli leaders

The International Centre of Justice for Palestinians (ICJP) has said the ICC's decision to issue arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defence Minister Yoav Gallant is "as welcome as it is overdue."

In a statement, the ICJP called on all state parties to the Rome statute, including the UK, to "support the ICC’s investigation, arrest, and prosecution processes".

The statement further called on the ICC prosecutor's office to pursue warrants "for a greater range of charges including additional perpetrators".

"The institutionalisation and extent of Israel’s war crimes and crimes against humanity demonstrate how responsibility does not neatly fall between two individuals," it said, adding that the extent of the crimes committed since the arrest warrant application requires further investigation.
