Indian state-owned arms manufacturer looks to renew export permit for Israel

India’s government-owned Munitions India Ltd was permitted to export armaments to Israel until January 2024 and has applied for another export licence amid the war in Gaza.

Middle East Eye reported in February that the Israeli army was set to include Indian-made Hermes 900 drones in its expanding fleet of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV), in a move human rights activists and defence analysts said implicated India in Israel’s war on Gaza.

The Munitions India Ltd shipments are separate. The firm specialises in the production of small, medium and high-calibre ammunition, mortars, rockets, and hand grenades.
