Iran says Israel carried out three-phase strike

Israel launched a three-stage attack on Iran that continued until 9am local time (05:30 GMT) on Tuesday, according to a spokesperson for Iran’s Khatam al-Anbiya central military headquarters, as quoted by state television.

Earlier, Iranian state media reported that a ceasefire would begin at 7:30am.

Iran’s Supreme National Security Council had warned that its forces were fully prepared to “decisively respond” to any further aggression.
