Israel has killed 61,827 Palestinians, starved 240 to death: Health Ministry
Israeli forces have killed 61,827 Palestinians and wounded 155,275 others since October 2023, Gaza's Health Ministry has said.
The ministry also reported the death of a child due to the Israeli-imposed aid blockade. The latest casualty brings the death toll from starvation to 240, including 107 children.
Israel has enforced a near-total blockade of aid on Gaza, leading to severe shortages of food and essential medical supplies.
Israeli forces have also shot dead more than 1,300 Palestinian aid seekers, mostly at the US and Israel-run Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF) distribution sites.
Since 27 May, at least 1,373 Palestinians have been killed while seeking food; 859 in the vicinity of the GHF sites and 514 along the routes of food convoys, United Nations has said.
