Israel releases second group of Palestinian prisoners from Ketziot Prison
Israeli authorities have released the second group of Palestinian prisoners from Ketziot Prison in the Negev to Gaza on Monday.
Wafa news agency reported that 38 buses and 10 ambulances transferred hundreds of prisoners set for release.
They were welcomed by families and supporters, with many immediately transported to hospital for medical examinations and treatment.
The group includes 154 prisoners who were serving life sentences, and will be deported to Egypt.
The first group of 96 prisoners were released from Ofer Prison, west of Ramallah earlier today, which followed Hamas's release of 20 living Israeli hostages on Monday morning.
Palestinian prisoner advocacy groups report that over 11,000 detainees remain in custody, including 350 sentenced to life imprisonment. Around 400 child prisoners are held in Ofer and Megiddo Prisons.
