Israeli army says it targeted vehicle in Gaza as it did not pass through inspection route

The Israeli military said its aircraft targeted what it described as a "suspicious" vehicle travelling along Gaza's coastal road in the central part of the enclave.

In a statement, it said that fighter jets fired at the vehicle as it did not pass through an inspection route stipulated in the ceasefire agreement.

"The IDF is prepared for any scenario and will continue to take any necessary actions to thwart any immediate threat to IDF soldiers," it said, giving no details on the impact of the strike or on any casualties.
