Israeli army: Three killed at crossing were security guards

The three fatalities resulting from the shooting at the Allenby Crossing were security guards, the Israeli army has confirmed.

The military said in a statement that the alleged assailant arrived from Jordan in a truck and opened fire at security forces before being shot dead.

It added that three Israeli civilians were pronounced dead as a result of the attack, later clarifying to the AFP news agency that they were “working as security guards” and not in the army or police.
