Israel confirms carrying out overnight attacks on Gaza City

The Israeli army said its warplanes carried out attacks on two buildings overnight, one in the Shati refugee camp and another on the Daraj neighbourhood of Gaza City.

The military claims the attacks targeted Hamas fighters who were "involved in planning many terror attacks against Israel, and some of them were involved in holding hostages and participating in the massacre on October 7".

At least 10 people were reportedly killed in the strike on the Shati camp, including the sister of Hamas political leader Ismail Haniyeh, while at least five people were killed in the Daraj neighbourhood.
