Israeli contractor shot dead in Gaza by Israeli army after being mistaken for a Palestinian

An Israeli contractor working for a company carrying out operations for the Israeli army was shot dead in central Gaza, the military confirmed on Tuesday.

The Israeli army said an investigation had been launched into the incident.

Reports indicate the Israeli army mistakenly identified the man as a Palestinian.
