Israeli court orders forced evictions of 26 Palestinian families in Jerusalem

An Israeli court has ordered the eviction of 26 Palestinian families from their homes in the Batn al-Hawa neighbourhood of the Silwan district in occupied East Jerusalem, according to the Wafa news agency.

The court said the homes were constructed on land once owned by Jewish individuals before 1948, the year the Israeli state was founded.

This ruling affects 154 Palestinians who now face the prospect of being displaced from their homes.

The court's decision mandates that the families vacate their residences within the next six months, further deepening the hardships faced by Palestinians in the region.
