Israeli military encircles eastern half of Rafah

Israeli tanks have seized the main road splitting eastern and western Rafah, encircling the city's east, according to Reuters news agency.

Residents interviewed by Reuters reported that constant explosions and gunfire could by heard in the east and northeast of the city.
