Israel's attack on Iran: How the world reacted

Governments and leaders around the world have reacted after Israel launched a huge attack on Iran in the early hours of Friday, targeting nuclear facilities, military commanders and scientists. 

Benjamin Netanyahu, Israel’s prime minister, released a video statement confirming the attacks on Friday morning. 

"Moments ago, Israel launched Operation Rising Lion, a targeted military operation to roll back the Iranian threat to Israel’s very survival,” he said. 

Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, Iran’s supreme leader, said that following the strikes, Israel had “prepared for itself a bitter, painful fate”. 

“Zionist regime has committed a crime in our dear country today at dawn with its satanic, bloodstained hands. It has revealed its malicious nature even more than before by targeting residential areas."
