Israel’s war has killed over 16,800 Palestinian students: Report

The Palestinian Ministry of Education said on Tuesday that thousands of students and education workers have been killed, wounded, or detained since the Israeli assault on Gaza and the West Bank began on 7 October 2023.

Key figures released by the ministry and reported by Wafa are as follows:

• Gaza Strip: At least 16,664 students killed and more than 25,728 students wounded

• West Bank: In the occupied West Bank at least 138 students killed, more than 910 students injured and over 760 students arrested.

• Teachers and school staff: Educators have also not been spared, with at least 926 killed in Gaza and the West Bank and 4,452 injured. A further 199 arrested in the West Bank
