Italy's foreign minister welcomes ceasefire in meeting with Palestinian and Israeli leaders
Italy's foreign minister Antonio Tajani on Monday met Palestinian and Israeli officials, welcoming the beginning of the ceasefire in Gaza.
"At a crucial moment for the Middle East, thanks to the beginning of the truce at Gaza and the release of the first hostages, my mission in Israel and Palestine wants to confirm the commitment to build a future of peace in the region," he wrote on Twitter.
He added that he told Palestine's prime minister that Italy is ready to take part in reconstruction efforts.
