Lebanon responded ‘positively’ to US ceasefire proposal

The Lebanese government has reacted “positively”  to the US ceasefire proposal that aims at ending the conflict between Israel and Hezbollah.

In an interview with the Qatari news agency Al Arabi, the Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati said that some issues still “require discussion,” but stated that all unresolved points are to be discussed with US special envoy to Lebanon Amos Hochstein, who is due to travel to Beirut on Tuesday.

Mikati hoped that a truce would be reached "as soon as possible”.
