Good morning MEE readers,

Here are some of key developments from the last few hours:

    • Israeli army’s assault on Jenin continues, with at least one house targeted

    • Israeli soldiers have forced Palestinian families to leave their homes in an eastern neighbourhood in the city, Aljazeera is reporting

    • Israeli settlers also attacked and set fire to “several vehicles” in the Palestinian village of Umm Safa, north of Ramallah in the West Bank

    • Adam Boehler's direct meetings with Hamas on the release of captives in Gaza was a "one-off situation" and as of now "hasn't borne fruit", US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said on Monday

    • The arrest of Mahmoud Khalil, a Palestinian graduate student who has played a prominent role in pro-Palestinian protests at New York's Columbia University, will be followed by others, US President Donald Trump said

    • The lawyer representing Khalil, said he was “chosen as an example” by the Trump administration to “stifle entirely lawful dissent”
