The Israeli cabinet has approved the State Budget for 2025-26 which includes surge in military spending, as well as spending cuts and tax hikes to cover the costs of its ongoing war on Gaza.
The new budget allocates 147 billion ILS to military spending, representing the highest proportion of military spending in Israel's history.
A footnote in the budget cites the prolongation and intensification of Israel's war on Gaza.
