Palestinian envoy to UK: Mawasi attack is Israel's response to ICJ
The Palestinian envoy to the UK, Husam Zumlot, has said in a post on X that Israel's attack on Mawasi is its "response to the ICJ [International Court of Justice] ruling 4 months ago, to the UNSC [Security Council] more than a month ago and to the ongoing ceasefire talks".
More than 70 people are confirmed killed after Israeli air strikes targeted tents where displaced people were sheltering in Mawasi, a designated "safe zone" in Khan Younis.
"[Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin] Netanyahu wants permanent aggression and permanent occupation," Zumlot said.
