Palestinian Islamic Jihad condemns Israel's 'premeditated' Mawasi massacre

The Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) armed group has condemned Israel's "horrific massacre" in Mawasi, saying that Israeli claims that the attack was targeting Hamas leaders "proves its premeditated intention to commit this crime".
"This crime confirms that the occupation has disregarded all international norms and covenants," the PIJ said in a statement, adding that the attack constitutes "an insistence on continuing the war of extermination against our people".
According to Gaza's health ministry, more than 70 people have been killed and 289 injured in a series of Israeli air strikes on the Mawasi refugee camp, which was designated a "safe zone" by Israeli forces.
