PRCS: al-Amal hospital out of service

The Palestine Red Crescent Society (PRCS) has announced the closure of al-Amal hospital in southern Gaza, which had been besieged by Israeli forces since Sunday.

On Monday, 27 staff, six patients and the bodies of two people were transferred to Khan Younis. According PRCS, they were trapped in ambulances for 20 hours.

The society expressed its "profound regret" at the hospital's closure, citing the failure of the international community "to provide the necessary protection for its teams, patients, and IDPs (internally displaced persons)."

"The hospital suffered the same fate as the PRCS’s Al-Quds Hospital in Gaza City, which was taken out of service several months ago," PRCS posted on X.
