Rights monitor denounces Israeli execution of two brothers in Khan Younis

The Euro-Med rights monitor on Friday denounced the Israeli killing of two brothers in Khan Younis.

The organisation said it “documented the arbitrary execution and horrific premeditated murder of two brothers, one of whom was a child, by an Israeli sniper in front of their parents and other family members while they were getting ready to be forcibly removed from their home in the Al-Amal neighbourhood, west of Khan Yunis.”

An eyewitness, who wished to remain anonymous, told the Euro-Med team that on Wednesday, between 10:30 and 11 am the 14-year-old, identified as Nahed Adel Barbakh, was holding a white flag in his hand, left his home near Al-Amal Neighbourhood School, west of Khan Younis.

He was leading a group of his family members who were getting ready to leave their home to evacuate the area after receiving orders from the Israeli army to head towards Al-Mawasi. The boy was hit by a gunshot to his leg and fell to the ground as soon as he crossed the street toward the other sidewalk, about three or four metres from his house.

In a statement, the rights group said: “The Israeli army forces continue to intentionally target civilians and carry out premeditated murders and arbitrary extrajudicial executions, along with their massive attack in the west of Khan Yunis, south of the Gaza Strip, and as part of their ongoing genocide.”
