Tomb of Assad’s father set ablaze in Syrian hometown

The mausoleum of Hafez al-Assad, the late Syrian president and father of Bashar al-Assad, was set on fire in Qardaha, the family’s ancestral hometown, according to AFP.
Videos circulating on social media showed flames engulfing parts of the tomb, which has long been a symbol of the Assad family's dominance in Syria.
