Turkey slams Netanyahu’s push for war, warns of regional destabilisation

Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan has warned against Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s “attempt to return to war in Gaza” and called for an immediate halt to Israel’s military operations in the occupied West Bank.

“We completely reject any attempt to displace the residents of the Gaza Strip,” Fidan stated, accusing Israel of using its military power to destabilise the region. “Israel is trying to develop a project to weaken the countries of the region and is dragging it into the abyss.”

He condemned Netanyahu’s government for its ongoing “genocide and expansion” in Lebanon, Syria, and the West Bank, as well as its relentless efforts to expel Palestinians from their land. Fidan stressed the urgent need for a two-state solution, stating that it remains the only viable path to peace and has broad support from regional nations.
