Ukrainian drone operators supported HTS offensive from Idlib: Report

Ukrainian intelligence sent about 20 drone operators and about 150 first-person-view drones to Idlib, Syria, to assist Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS), in its offensive, according to a report by the Washington Post.

The drone operators were sent to Syria four to five weeks before the offensive that toppled the Assad government.

The report says the deployment was "part of a broader Ukrainian effort to strike covertly at Russian operations in the Middle East, Africa and inside Russia".

According to the Washington Post report, US officials denied knowledge of the Ukrainian deployment.
