UN general assembly overwhelmingly backs Palestinian self-determination

In a Monday vote by the United Nations General Assembly, the body overwhelmingly backed a resolution affirming the right of Palestinian self-determination.
One hundred sixty-four nations voted in favour, while eight voted against, including the US, Israel, and Argentina.
Nine other countries abstained.
