UN laments 'devastating' stories of Palestinian babies dying of hypothermia

The United Nations has raised reports of infants dying in Gaza because of hypothermia, calling it "devastating" and saying this "shouldn’t be happening in our modern days".

The UN children's fund, Unicef, said it was distributing winter clothing to children to help protect them from the cold, but the needs are immense.

"What children need now is a sustained ceasefire and continued unimpeded access to aid," Unicef said.
