UN nuclear watchdog urges Iran to cooperate after ceasefire announcement

IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi said on Tuesday he had reached out to Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi to propose a meeting and called for renewed cooperation following the ceasefire between Iran and Israel.

Grossi tweeted that Iran’s resumption of cooperation with the agency could open the door to a diplomatic resolution of the long-running dispute over Tehran’s nuclear programme.

Iran has denied any intention to develop nuclear weapons.
