UN peacekeeper wounded after protestors torch vehicle near Beirut

A UN peacekeeper was injured on Friday after Hezbollah supporters set fire to a UN vehicle near Beirut’s airport, according to a Lebanese security source cited by Reuters.

In a statement, Unifil, the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon, said its outgoing deputy force commander was wounded after a convoy taking peacekeepers to the Beirut airport was "violently attacked."

Unifil demanded a "full and immediate investigation" by Lebanese authorities and for all perpetrators to be brought to justice.
