UN warns West Bank displacement at 'record levels'
The UN humanitarian agency (OCHA) has warned that "violence is surging" and "displacement is at record levels" in the occupied West Bank.
"Aid groups are stepping in, but we must not let the West Bank become another Gaza," OCHA's office in Palestine said in a post on X.
According to the agency's monthly update, 44,285 Palestinians were displaced across the occupied West Bank during January and February 2025 amid Israeli raids. Of those, 38,710 were "displaced due to Palestinian and Israeli forces' operations," OCHA said.
It also reported that home demolitions carried out by Israeli forces displaced 2,765 people. An additional 837 were forced to leave their homes due to settler violence and restrictions on movement.
Violence is surging in the #WestBank. Displacement is at record levels. Aid groups are stepping in, but we must not let the West Bank become another #Gaza.
