Unrwa condemns massive destruction in Gaza

The UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (Unrwa) has described the destruction in Gaza as "unfathomable".

"Houses, schools, hospitals, and infrastructure have been reduced to rubble," Unrwa reported, noting that approximately 190 of its facilities have been affected, and at least 520 displaced Palestinians sheltering in these buildings have died.

Louise Wateridge, Unrwa's senior communications officer, commented on the dire situation in southern Gaza’s Khan Younis, stating that the remaining buildings are "hanging by a thread".

"Everywhere you look, there is destruction," she said in a video posted on X. "Huge craters line rubble-filled roads, leaving little hope for those who remain."
