Unrwa opens 130 new education centres in Gaza

The UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (Unrwa) says it has recently established 130 temporary learning centers in Gaza to accommodate around 47,000 children throughout the Strip.

“Education for children restores some hope. It helps them heal [and] slowly re-connect with their childhood,” Unrwa Commissioner General Philippe Lazzarini said in a post on X.

“It’s critical for overcoming the unspeakable traumas they are enduring.”

Lazzarini added that the students are receiving basic learning in Arabic, English, mathematics and science.
