WHO projects 100,000 children in Gaza will suffer acute malnutrition through April

World Health Organisation Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said conditions in Gaza have improved since an October ceasefire, but warned that “progress remains extremely fragile” and acute malnutrition continues to threaten thousands of people.

"Over 100,000 children and 37,000 pregnant and breastfeeding women are still projected to suffer acute malnutrition through April next year,"

Only about half of Gaza’s health facilities are partially functioning and face shortages because of Israeli restrictions, he said, calling for the urgent and expedited approval and entry of essential supplies, equipment and prefabricated hospital structures.
