Britain to deploy £1 billion battleship to support campaign against IS

The British government will deploy a £1bn Royal Navy destroyer in the Persian Gulf to protect US carriers involved in the military campaign against the Islamic State (IS) group. The deployment comes after a US destroyer last week fired warning shots after an Iranian fast-attack patrol ship sailed too close.
