Hamas: no more temporary ceasefires in Gaza

A spokesperson for Hamas has told Al Jazeera that the Palestinian factions have agreed that they will not take part in any further temporary ceasefires in Gaza.

"Our primary efforts are now focused on international and European attempts to reach a long-term truce between the sides," Moussa Abu Marzouk said.

He went to accuse Israel of using the temporary ceasefires to grow its list of demands.

"Israel only understands the language of force and resistance, and continues with the war of attrition to achieve goals," he said.

While acknowledging that fighters in Gaza are still building rockets, Marzouk said a political solution is the only option to end the conflict. He said Hamas is working on a document to address "resistance" that will allow Palestinians to "continue the struggle to liberate Jerusalem and the occupied territories."
