Hamas official in Lebanon calls for halt to air strikes, and greater aid efforts

Usama Hamdan, a Hamas representative in Lebanon, has outlined a number of demands, speaking in a televised speech from Beirut.

“We call on the Arab nations, Muslim nations and the UN to take responsibility for the violation of conventions and carrying out war crimes which the occupation forces are undertaking,” he said.

“We call on a solution for the severe humanitarian crisis which is unfolding, the blocked roads, the people trapped under buildings, and the consistent bombing of the rafah crossing,” he added.

The official called on Arab countries to end any normalisation of diplomatic relations with Israel amidst the ongoing bombardment of the besieged enclave.
