Israel army 'downs' possible drone over Red Sea

Israeli media is reporting the possible shooting down of a drone approaching Israel from the Red Sea on Tuesday morning.

The Times of Israel reported that the Israeli military had identified an “aerial target” but did not confirm whether it had been shot down.

On Friday, explosions believed to be caused by armed drones injured six people in the Egyptian resort of Taba, close to the Israeli border.

Houthi fighters in Yemen are known to have a sophisticated drone arsenal and have previously threatened Israel over its bombardment of Gaza.
