Israel says it struck two Hezbollah cells in Lebanon
23 October 2023 00:22 BST
Israel's military said that it struck two Hezbollah cells in Lebanon early on Monday, adding that the cells were planning to launch anti-tank missiles and rockets toward Israel.
The military said one of the cells it struck was near the Israeli town of Mattat, around 13 kilometres southwest of the Lebanese town of Aitaroun. It said the other was in the disputed Shebaa Farms area, and also added that Israeli aircraft struck both cells before they fired.
Lebanon's state-run news agency NNA reported an Israeli air strike on the southern outskirts of Aitaroun, but did not provide details.
It wasn't immediately clear if the two reports were referring to the same incident.
