Israeli army says it hit '600 targets' in Gaza over last 24 hours

The Israeli military said in a post on social media that it attacked "600 targets" over the last day, as it expanded ground operations in Gaza.
It claimed it killed dozens of Hamas fighters who had barricaded themselves inside buildings.
Middle East Eye could not independently verify the calim.
